A man was hit and killed by a vehicle on Lake Shore Drive Saturday evening, officials confirmed.
Police said the incident occurred at 6:57 p.m. at 1600 N Lake Shore Drive.
The 33-year-old man was attempting to cross Lake Shore Drive on foot, according to the Chicago Fire Department.
He was struck by a vehicle, and taken to Northwestern Memorial Hospital, where he was pronounced dead.
The Cook County Medical Examiner's office later identified him as Terrance T. Nelson, of the 1200 block of S Kildare in the Lawndale neighborhood.
Fire officials said the circumstances leading up to the incident were unknown, and police continue to investigate.
