116 Feared Dead After Jet Wreckage Found in Mali

Wreckage from a commercial jetliner that disappeared over west Africa carrying 116 people, nearly half from France, has been found in Mali, in what is the third major international aviation disaster in a week, NBC News and the Associated Press reported. Algeria-bound Air Algerie Flight AH5017 vanished from radar about 50 minutes after it took off from Ouagadougou, Burkina Faso, according to the Algerian Press Service. Burnt human remains and wreckage from the plane were found by rescuers and locals about 31 miles from Mali's border with Burkina Faso. Separatist violence in the area may hamper an eventual investigation.
